About Horner Park
Horner Park is a cozy enclave located within the much large Albany Park neighborhood. Its name is derived from the large Chicago Park bearing the same name, which stretches from Irving Park Road north to Montrose and from California east to Rockwell. The park is alive at all times of the year with activities for young and old alike. From softball, tennis and football to swimming, basketball and aerobics, Horner Park's park is chockfull of activities to keep the exercise conscious individual busy. The park also boasts beautiful paths for both jogging and roller-blading alike.
The housing in Horner Park is comprised mainly of rehabbed two and three flat walkups, single family homes and large apartments, all on clean, quiet, tree lined streets. Additionally, there are plenty of new construction condominiums and single family homes in the area.
Restaurants, bars, delis and shops are slowly but surely beginning to sprout up in Horner Park, but the close proximity and ease of public transportation into Roscoe Village, St. Bens, Lakeview and Wrigleyville currently compensates for any shortage in such establishments.
